When installing Datalink, you may encounter a number of different errors that will prevent the installation from completing. This article will guide you through how to solve the most common issues:
Visual Studio Tools Error
1. Visit the following link and install: Visual Studio Tools for Office
2. After that is complete, try installing Datalink once again.

1. Open Internet Explorer and open Internet Settings from the Gear drop down.

3. Scroll down to the Security section and select Do not save encrypted pages to disk. Click Apply and then OK.

If the key does not exist, create it.

3. Find the following registry key:
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\VSTA\SOLUTIONS
There should be a folder under 'Solutions' that is linked to Valcre. If there is more than one folder, click into them until you find one which relates to Valcre/Datalink.
You will then need to delete the entire folder and then attempt to install Datalink again.
