In the five years since Valcre was founded, we’ve been incredibly proud and grateful to see our platform grow to where it is today. Since 2016 alone, we’ve helped conduct more than 50,000 appraisals, and have been adopted by major names across the appraisal, tax, investment and commercial real estate arena, including Apprise by Walker & Dunlop, Duff & Phelps a Kroll Business, RSM, and NAI Partners.
This week, we reached another milestone – officially joining a cohort that will fuel the next phase of our expansion, help us add power to our platform for our existing users, and forge a path to serve one of the largest professional groups in the commercial real estate arena.
Valcre has been selected as a member of the REACH Commercial Class of 2021 for the National Association of REALTORS®’ (NAR) technology scale-up program created by Second Century Ventures, which aims to propel the best and brightest technology companies into the real estate industry and adjacent verticals.
NAR is America’s largest trade association, with a membership of 1.4 million, and inclusion in the REACH program gives Valcre access to NAR REACH’s vast network and wealth of expertise as we begin to reach an exciting new user base for our platform. Most small brokerages do not maintain dedicated appraisal teams, or in many cases, any formally trained appraisal staff; however, these teams are very often producing valuation-related documents – such as broker opinion of values (BOV’s) – that are critical to determining the asking price for a given asset. On both an individual and macro level, these kinds of assessments play a significant role in setting the course of a local or regional market.
Unlike many early-stage technology companies, Valcre’s journey to date has been accomplished entirely without the aid of venture capital or institutional investment. While that path has been marked by incredible success, this new step represents a massive opportunity for our company and all of our users, and a natural next step in our ongoing evolution.
